Class of 2016 and Beyond (Complete and exact timelines will be provided during English classes.)
*During English III you should:
1) Complete your "Ethics Pledge" including signatures and return it to your English III teacher to be
filed.
2) Complete your "Liability Form" including signatures and return it to your English III teacher to
be filed.
3) Begin meeting with your Academic Advisor to discuss and select an appropriate Topic. (Keep
record of your meetings throughout the entire process. Forms are in the Handbook.)
3) Submit your topic for approval by the Advisory Committee.
4) Successfully complete your Research Paper about your selected and approved topic.
5) Find a Mentor with whom to complete your 15 hour (minimum) mentorship.
6) Complete your "Mentor Information Form" including signatures and returned to your English III
teacher for filing.
7) Complete "Letter of Intent" before your mentorship hours begin. (Instructions are in the
Handbook.) Submit it for approval.
8) Meet with your Academic Advisor to complete the "Graduation Project Product Plan" (found in the
Handbook)
*Before you begin English IV, you should:
1) Completed your mentorship hours.
2) Work with your mentor to complete the Product
3) Make sure you document all of your time with your mentor throughout the entire process. The
form can be found in the Handbook.)
*During English IV you should:
1) Turn in Journals 2 and 3 to your English IV teacher for evaluation, revision, and finally filing.
2) Continue to work on and complete your product with your mentor. Seek advice from your
English IV teacher (he/she also servers as your academic adviser) when necessary.
3) Ask your mentor to complete the "Product Evaluation Form" (Page 1 and Page 2) to be returned
to your English IV teacher in a sealed and signed envelope.
4) Learn and/or practice Public Speaking Skills in preparation for the Presentation.
5) Seek any special permissions you may need from the administration. (Examples from previous
years include but are not limited to: Needing to bring to school dogs, horses, cows, fire trucks,
cars, boats, special persons with disabilities or expertise, materials to conduct cosmetology
demonstrations, etc.)
6) Complete the presentation on the date designated by the administration.
